Everybody has a different writing style. Writing wouldn’t be the beautiful art form it is if we didn’t. Harness the style that works best for you because that’s what defines you and your journal. BUT, there is always room for experimenting and implementing different methods. There are a couple of reasons I think you should consider trying some of my suggestions.

One, you simply can’t record everything that happens every day. To do so would be a full time job and probably make the art of journal writing more frustrating than it’s worth. What I think most people do is simply write when they have the chance and only write about the most active things on their minds. Work, relationships, parties, money and emotions are just a few that come to mind.

However, in my experience, if you dig a little deeper and try to put some focus to your journal, I think the entire process can be much more rewarding. Consider some of the styles I’ve observed in my own writing:
